His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, chaired today, Thursday, at Ma’ashiq Palace, part of the cabinet meeting, within the framework of close coordination between the institutions of the executive authority. In order to discuss local and regional developments, including the economic situation, living conditions, and services, the optimal response to current changes and interconnected challenges at various levels.
His Excellency the President briefed the Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik and members of the government, on the developments related to the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to renew the truce and launch a comprehensive political process that ensures an end to the coup of the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, and the restoration of state institutions, in accordance with the terms of reference agreed upon nationally, regionally, and internationally.
The President pointed out that the Houthi militias continue their military and human rights violations, and renounce all commitments to the truce, prevailing the interests of their leaders and supporters over the interests of the Yemeni people and their aspirations to restore security, stability and development.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the efforts made by the government during the previous period in reducing the repercussions of the cessation of oil exports over a whole year, and preventing the situation from sliding into a dire humanitarian catastrophe, as a result of the Houthi terrorist attacks on export ports and international shipping lines.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council touched on the government's urgent priorities in the economic, service, and security fields, and the requirements for strengthening the pioneering role of Aden as the country's interim capital.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council urged the Prime Minister and members of the government to redouble efforts, and work in a team spirit, to improve the level of performance, public revenues, combat corruption, and move forward with the program of economic, financial, and service reforms, supported by brothers and friends.
His Excellency also renewed his praise for the role of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in supporting the national economy, strengthening the position of the local currency, alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, and thwarting the plans of the Houthi militias and their supporters to plunge the country into a comprehensive economic and humanitarian crisis.
Part of the meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
