President Al-Alimi receives Ambassadors of EU in Aden

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council along with ouncil member Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, received today, Tuesday, at Al-Mashiq Presidential Palace, in the interim capital Aden, the Head of the EU's Mission in Yemen Gabriel Vinales along with Ambassadors of France, Germany, the Netherlands and Finland.

During the meeting President al- Alimi briefed the European diplomats on the developments in the national arena and the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to resume the political process and build-up on it to achieve peace, security and stability in the country.

His Excellency also pointed out to the challenges and the threats to the security and stability of the region amid the Houthi militias' increasing threats and the cross-borders terrorist organizations. 

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council highly praised the supportive stances of the EU's countries in support of the Yemeni people, its political leadership and its legitimate aspirations to restore State's institutions and end the Iran-backed Houthi militias’ coup.

His Excellency called for more European pressures upon the militias to submit to the popular and international will, accept the peace option and to end the long-standing human suffering.

For their part, the EU's Ambassadors have confirmed the continuous support of their own countries for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government's reforms in the liberated governorates at different levels.

The European diplomats expressed their appreciation to the Presidential Council and the government for their keenness to deal positively with the ongoing good offices aiming to revive the peace process, open the road to the future that all Yemenis deserve. 

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ausan Al-Awd, and the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, ambassador Jamal Awad Nasser.
