President Al- Alimi visits King Salman Medical City in Al-Mahra Governorate

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, visited today, Saturday, King Salman Medical and Educational City project in Al-Mahra Governorate, funded by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY).

During the visit, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council was accompanied by the Vice Presidents of the Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah Abu Al-Ghaith and Engineer Wahy Aman, the Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, Mohammed Ali Yaser, the Ministers of Education, Dr. Tariq Al-Akbari, Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Al-Aboudi, the Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Council, Major General Saleh Al-Maqalih, the Secretary-General of the Local Council of Al-Mahra Governorate, Salem Neimer, the Deputy Governor of the governorate, Muktahr bin Aweid, and a number of officials.

The project is located on an area estimated at one million square meters for the construction of medical and educational facilities, including in the first phase a hospital with a bed capacity of 110 beds, a room for major operations, cardiac operations, intensive and intensive care, incubation rooms, a radiology department and a helipad for medical evacuation operations, in addition to the various clinics in Internal medicine, dentistry, children and others. 

King Salman Medical City is one of the largest service projects in Yemen, intended to meet the healthcare needs of Al-Mahra Governorate and the neighboring Governorates  through health sector projects.

In a statement to the media, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council congratulated the Yemeni people on the comprehensive medical facility in Al-Mahra Governorate.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for constructing this vital project in Al-Mahra Governorate to serve Yemenis everywhere.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the role of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), along with the project's staff, the unique integration of its medical, scientific, technical, and engineering components. The project will include in its second phase, establishing the Faculty of Medicine equipped with the latest facilities.
