President Al-Alimi receives Saudi Minister of Defense

  RIYADH:

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, president of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Council's members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Sultan al-Eradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdurhman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahssani received today, Tuesday, the Minister of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman.

During the meeting, Prince Khalid conveyed to president Al-Alimi and the members of the Leadership Council the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister,,, and expressed their hope for Yemen and its people to achieve security and stability. He also congratulated  Al-Alimi and council members on Yemen’s Unity Day, which commemorates the unification of North and South Yemen.

On their part, President Al-Alimi along with council members conveyed through Prince Khalid their greetings, to the Saudi leadership, wishing them and the brotherly Saudi people all progress and prosperity.

 

The President of the Presidential Council also congratulated the Saudi brothers, King, government, and people, on the success of the Arab Summit in Jeddah and the positive decisions arising from it in support of the Yemeni people and their aspirations of restoring State institutions and ending the Iran- backed Houthi militia’s coup.

In this context, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in enhancing joint Arab action, unifying the Arab stance, and protecting the coherence of the Arab system and its national institutions.

President Al-Alimi, and council members, highly appreciated the supportive stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the Yemeni people including the Saudi proposals and constant efforts to end the war and establish peace in Yemen, not to mention the generous humanitarian and developmental interventions in all walks of life..

For his part Prince Khalid reaffirmed the Kingdom's continued support for the Yemeni presidential council in all fields to serve the Yemeni people. He also stressed backing the UN envoy’s efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution that achieves peace and development for Yemen.

The meeting touched upon the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena, the ways to support the economic and services reforms and the underway efforts to renew the truce, revive the political process in accordance with the terms of peace references that are agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, and on  the Saudi side, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, and Director General of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Defense Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
