President Al-Alimi Offers Condolences on Passing of Maj. Gen. Yahya Al-Kahlani

Today, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of condolence and sympathy to Mr. Hani Yahya Mohammed Al-Kahlani and his brothers on the passing of their father, Major General Yahya Mohammed Al-Kahlani. Maj. Gen. Al-Kahlani passed away after a lifetime of dedicated and honorable national contributions in the military and security fields.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on behalf of himself, the members of the Council, and the government, expressed sincere condolences and deepest sympathy on the passing of Maj. Gen Yahya Al-Kahlani. Furthermore,He praised the decrease’s virtues, his national roles , and his distinguished history of struggle in defending the revolution and the republican system, in addition to his role in lifting the Seventy Day Siege of the capital, Sana'a.

His Excellency the President praised the late Major General's career of contributions and sacrifice in serving his country and people while holding various military and security leadership positions, including Commander of the Military Police, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Minister Plenipotentiary and Military Attaché in several diplomatic missions. His Excellency prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon the deceased and to inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.

Major General Yahya Mohammed Al-Kahlani was born in the city of Rada'a, Al-Bayda, in 1945. He was graduated from the first class of the Military College in 1963. He served as the Commander of the Military Police during the Seventy Day Siege and held the positions of Commander of the Revolution Brigade, Commander of the Unity Brigade, and Chief of Staff of the Giants Forces. Additionally, he served as Deputy Minister of Interior for Public Security, Military Attaché in the former Soviet Union, and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Yemeni Embassy in Sudan.
