Speech by PLC President: His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi on the Occasion of Eid Al-Adha 1445 AH
Aden
In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, who says in His Mighty Book, “And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass” And who said “And it is the duty of mankind toward Allah to make pilgrimage to the House—for those who can afford the journey to it”
May peace and blessings be upon our beloved prophet Mohammed, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.
Dear fellow citizens,
Brothers and Sisters,
O great Yemeni people, at home and abroad,
In these venerable days of the sacred month of Dhul-Hijjah, it is my pleasure to greet you with the most sincere feelings, love and respect, and to address you on my own behalf, my fellow members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, with sincere congratulations and warmest heart wishes on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha. May God bring it back to our people and our Arab and Islamic nation with many happy returns.
I extend my congratulations specifically to the guests of the Most Merciful, the pilgrims of the House of God, which God has made a source of reward for people and a safe place for them to perform the Hajj rituals, asking the Almighty God to accept their Hajj and return them safe and sound to their families and loved ones.
On this occasion, it is my pleasure to congratulate our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of my brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on the success of the Hajj ceremony, which is the largest global conference. For which they devote themselves to serving Pilgrims of the Holy House of God, make every effort and capabilities to ensure the care and security of the guests of the Most Gracious, and to ensure the performance of their rituals with ease and flexibility.
We ask God Almighty to bless their efforts, and to preserve the land of the Two Holy Mosques, and to perpetuate goodness, security, and peace in it and the peoples of the entire world.
I also congratulate on this great religious occasion the men of our armed and security forces, all military formations, and the popular resistance stationed throughout our beloved Yemen in defense of its security and stability, its republican system and its national gains. I also congratulate all political components, civil society organizations, and men of the media, intellect and culture, and before all, the women and men on duty during the days and nights of Eid, wishing everyone blessed days, and victory, security, and peace for our dear homeland.
Dear fellow citizens,
Brothers and Sisters,
The Eids are blessed days and important milestones in which we provide ourselves with obedience and good deeds. In which we feel the values of unity, solidarity and brotherhood, and here is the Day of Arafah symbolizing that feeling, the one body. When millions of pilgrims came from various parts to a specific place and at a specific time, wearing one garment with a unified slogan of the “Talbiyah”: (Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner).
These days, we share feelings of love, peace, and family ties. Despite all the tribulations and pain that our people are suffering as a result of the coup by the terrorist Houthi militia, the Yemenis are an authentic, life-loving people who sympathize with the poor, the orphan, and the needy, reject slavery, superstition, class differences, racialism, and all diseases of pre-Islamic times. They yearn for the state, law, justice, and equality. They proceed with faith and certainty as one heartedly to restore the institutions of their state and protect their achievements.
Dear sisters, brothers everywhere,
Our greatest Eid will be the day of restoring our national institutions and liberating our land from projects of backwardness, extremism and hatred. The day of restoring happy Yemen, the homeland of pride and dignity that the new imamate, based on the idea of guardianship, seeks to shackle with slavery to other than God, guardianship over people, discrimination and claims of racial distinction. Contrary to Almighty’s saying: “O humankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may get to know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware”.
Therefore, we must realize today that we are all holding religious and national responsibilities that require us to keep united, overcome our wounds, and bring back together the country that was torn apart by years of coup and war. We have to resume the cycle of life and development that was stopped by the Iranian regime’s puppet militia, that took us back decades.
O great Yemeni people,
We have been, and still are, committed to standing by your side, striving to serve you, and moving towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with the terms of reference for the solution agreed upon nationally, regionally, and internationally. We are committed to improve the economic and living conditions resulting from the Houthi militia’s war and its destructive follies at various levels, including targeting our oil facilities and international shipping lines, in order to deepen the crisis and exacerbate the aches and pains.
Despite this, the government continues its efforts to secure the possible limit of services and regular payment of employee salaries, hoping that the brotherly and friendly efforts will result in pushing the militias to heed to the voice of reason and respond to the free popular will in choosing their future and their system based on pluralism, justice, and equal citizenship.
But instead, these rogue militias continue to give precedence to the interests of their leaders and supporters over the interests of the Yemeni people, and to continually harass their civil forces, as was evident in their latest violations, which affected dozens of employees working in humanitarian, UN agencies and human rights activists. Which confirms that we are on the right path when we had repeatedly called on international organizations to move their headquarters to the interim capital, Aden, so that they do not remain hostage to the militias and their repressive apparatuses.
The appropriate status for leaders of opinion and intellect, and relief workers, is to honor them as life makers and truth tellers. The appropriate deterrence for violators of rights and freedoms, and those who traffic in religion and politicize its pillars, rituals, and rites, is to isolate them, prevent them from escaping punishment, and criminalize their misguided ideas. Based on Wilayat al-Faqih (guardianship), imamate system, and abhorrent racist sectarianism, declaring others infidels, excluding them, and enslaving them, inciting sectarian tendencies, distorting the values of true Islam and the guidance of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and slanders against the law of Islam, under fabricated claims. The Almighty said: (So who is more unjust than one who lies about Allah and denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a residence for the disbelievers?)
Their misguidance and deviation have reached the point of practicing their sectarian slogans in the Sacred House of God during the Hajj rituals in barbaric behavior that would harm the guests of the Most Merciful and disturb their tranquility and security. It is a blatant violation of the sanctity of time and place and ungratefulness to the customs and traditions of authentic Arab society, and above all, a violation of the Qur’anic directives that stressed the necessity of Glorifying the rituals of God in Hajj and warning against turning away from the path of God and the Sacred Mosque. God Almighty said: (whoever intends to deviate by doing wrong in it, We will cause them to taste a painful punishment). God Almighty also said: (We made the House a destination and a sanctuary for people, and made the place where Abram stood a place of prayer. We commanded Abram and Ishmael to purify my House for those who walk around it, the devout and those who kneel and bow down).
Dear brothers and sisters,
We have decided through all state institutions to adopt the policy of "economic decisiveness", in response to the dangerous abuses of the Houthi militias that threaten to dump the country into a comprehensive humanitarian catastrophe. Beginning with its terrorist targeting of the resources of the Yemeni people, and its intransigent rejection of keeping away the banking sector, leading to the height of its delusion with the possibility of dispute the state's sovereignty cash through a forged currency minting and put it off for circulation.
Popular and political support for the Central Bank’s decisions has proven the appropriation of the “economic decisiveness” policy, which has been achieving three main goals: first to emphasize the legal and financial position of the Yemeni state. The second goal is to protect the banking sector, depositors' money from violations of terrorist militias, and combating money laundering.
The third goal is to save the national economy from the danger of international isolation following the decision to designate the Houthi militias as a terrorist organization. The negative repercussions of which may affect the entire Yemeni financial sector, which necessitated strict action to distinguish between the legal monetary system managed by the Central Bank, and the war economy and terrorism on which the militias feed.
Accordingly, I call on the entire Yemeni people to support and assist these decisions and act in accordance with them and not to pay attention to misleading propaganda through the platforms of the militias, that have monopolized the country’s capabilities. We are responsible for any obligations towards our citizens in the areas under the Houthis control by brute force.
Oh sisters, brothers,
The state leadership has always considered blocking roads and sieges of cities to be among the worst disasters of the war sparked by the terrorist Houthi militias, which dealt with this injustice as a leverage and blackmail to obtain political gains.
In an effort to end the suffering of millions, the government made many concessions in order to push the militias to end their siege of cities, open roads, facilitate the movement of individuals, money, goods, and the activities of humanitarian organizations. The government made this file a fixed priority in all agreements and understandings that the militias renounced.
Every time the militias announce the opening of roads, the government takes the initiative to welcome the step, attempts to institutionalize it, and transfer it from its immoral propaganda context to the responsibility of the committees concerned with negotiation, the agencies concerned with implementation, and the international teams concerned with monitoring.
The state’s keenness on this institutional and legal path aims to sustainably secure the movement of citizens, which necessarily means repositioning the forces stationed on the lines of contact, clearing the lands of mines and militia snipers, and never returning to the hell of the siege, which will remain a stain on the collective memory for the brutality of Imamate militias proxy of the Iranian regime.
The Houthi militias are mistaken that with these propaganda measures, especially in the issues of roads and detainees, they can cover up their crimes witnessed at the gates of Taiz, and in all parts of the proud governorate. They are also mistaken when they believe that their maneuvers can improve their image, or present them as sovereign at home after they failed to market it abroad.
O great Yemeni people,
This blessed Eid comes at a time when the Israeli war machine continues to abuse the sons of our resisting Palestinian people, which every day teaches eternal lessons in patience, desperate adherence to the land and its right to freedom and decent living.
We affirm our absolute commitment to our country's steadfast historical position alongside the great Palestinian people, supporting them, their just cause, and their aspirations to establish their independent, fully sovereign state.
Mercy and eternity for the martyrs
Healing for the wounded
Freedom for prisoners
Happy Adha Eid
