The speech of His Excellency, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council addressed to the Yemeni people on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr
Aden:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Dear citizens, brothers and sisters, at home and abroad, heroes stationed in various fields, Eid Mubarak. We ask God Almighty to accept good deeds from us and from you, and to restore it for us and the aspirations of our people to restore peace, stability, and development have been fulfilled .
Dear sisters and brothers, perhaps it is a good coincidence that these great religious events coincide with important stations in the history of our people, as Aden was eight years ago on time with victory. Just as the national forces were at the appropriate time last year on time to form the Presidential Leadership Council under the declaration of the transfer of power in a civilized manner won the admiration and blessing of the whole world.
In such days, Aden’s people and the heroes of the resistance crowned their legendary struggle and steadfastness by defeating the terrorist militias in a historical epic supported by our brothers in the Legitimacy Support Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Aden gave us a lesson throughout its history, but the militias and behind them the Iranian regime denied tis fact, thinking that they were able to attack us in a city that cannot be attacked. However, the heroes revolted against them with steadfastness, resistance, and freedom in all the liberated governorates, and those partially liberated, and gave hope to our citizens for steadfastness and resistance in areas under the force of militia control.
To Aden’s people, and our liberated governorates , your leadership and your nation are very proud of you, and we owe it to you and your brothers in the armed forces, security and popular resistance to defeat the Iranian Imamate project, and to keep the banner of freedom flying forever.
Fellow citizens, a year ago, on this day in April, we and my brothers, members of the Presidential Leadership Council, swore to follow the rule of partnership and national consensus. Therefore, here we are today speaking to you from the interim capital, Aden, with more confidence in the strength of our alliance, and its ability to manage crises, changes, and challenges with a firm belief that the popular will must prevail in the face of tyranny.
Fellow citizens, on this blessed night, I will not repeat to you a report on what we have accomplished, but rather an affirmation that today we are more united than before, more united around our central goal of restoring state institutions, bringing peace, fulfilling your legitimate aspirations, and placing our country in standing that it deserves.
However, a year after the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council, the militias are still betting on our division, which is a losing bet and a wrong estimate. You should not have the slightest doubt that the Council will remain united and determined to fulfill its tasks during the transitional period in accordance with the declaration of transfer of power and the references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.
I, my fellow members of the Council and the government have worked hard to move the wheel of growth and launch dozens of service projects that will be launched successively throughout the liberated governorates.
Dear sisters and brothers, based on their regional and international role, their fraternal, humanitarian duty, and based on their early peace initiative in 2021, which was approved by the government at the time, our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are leading sincere efforts to push the Houthi militia to renew the truce, ceasefire and an inclusive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
In this context, the brothers have gone through intense rounds for the sake of peace, which we all aspire to, but the militias continue to procrastinate, not responding to these initiatives, and trying to invest them to achieve political goals, mobilization, and misleading media campaigns.
In order for peace not to remain hostage to whims and interests, populist rhetoric and deceptive victories, we will have to join the awareness front, and hold on to the hope and promise of peace that we made in our oath speech.. We will have to face deception and lies, with the truth.
The Houthi militia chose to start this war, and today they choose to continue it, without regard for the suffering of our people and their hopes for peace, security, stability, and freedom.
Brothers and sisters, when you write the history of these lean years, one must not overlook the fact that the militia war and coup against the national consensus, the destruction, looting of public, private institutions and property, have made our country an example of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
As for us, we have made all the necessary concessions to alleviate the suffering of our people, and pave the way for the efforts of regional and international mediators.
We said we will open the ports and the airport and we did, as the state announced that it would pay salaries throughout the country in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, but the militias saw this as a propaganda act for the legitimate government, so they went to try to stop the salaries of employees in the liberated governorates by targeting oil export ports and commercial ships on international shipping lines.
Sisters and brothers, those sad images of hundreds of recently released detainees will remain stuck in the memory as they weep with joy at breathing the air of freedom that would not have been possible without the flexibility shown by the government negotiating team, the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the office of the United Nations Special Envoy and the International Committee of the Red Cross in order to end the suffering of thousands of our people who are detained, kidnapped, disappeared, and detained under house arrest.
We pledged to spare no effort to release the rest of the detainees who are absent in militia prisons, including Major General Faisal Rajab and Mr. Mohammed Qahtan, who are covered by the UN Security Council resolution. We have directed the government to provide all forms of support to the released detainees, and to enable them to make their voices heard so that the world knows the long-term suffering of our people.
In conclusion, sisters and brothers.. allow me, on behalf of you, the members of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the government, to renew my sincere congratulations and great gratitude to the heroes of our armed forces, security, and popular resistance, and to the alternates in various sectors away from their families during the happy days of Eid Al-Fitr.
Also, on this occasion, I do not miss to extend my sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims of the painful stampede in Sana'a, which was controlled by the militias, which claimed the lives of dozens of people seeking humanitarian aid to survive.
In this context, we direct the government, in coordination with international organizations and relief agencies, to provide a helping hand to the injured and the families of the victims of this horrific incident.
We ask Him, the Almighty, to release our captives, to grant a speedy recovery to our wounded and sick, to protect our country and our people from all harm and misfortune.
Happy Eid Fitr.
