President Al-Alimi Offers Condolences on Passing of Shura Council Member Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Maswari

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy today, Wednesday to Mr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Maswari and his brothers on the passing of their father, the late Shura Council member and distinguished national leader, Major General Hussein Mohammed Al-Maswari. The late military leader passed away after a lifetime of dedicated service to the nation.

On behalf of himself, the members of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the Government, President Al-Alimi expressed his sincere condolences on the passing of Major General Al-Maswari. He praised the deceased’s distinguished virtues, national contributions, and honorable record of struggle in defense of the republican system.

His Excellency the President also praised the late leader’s life of service and sacrifice in serving his country and people and advancing the nation’s progress. He noted that Major General Al-Maswari was among the Free Officers who participated in the 26 September Revolution of 1962 and in the battles to defend it against the Imamate regime. Throughout his distinguished career, the late leader held numerous senior security, military, diplomatic, and civilian positions, including Deputy Minister of Interior, Chief of the General Staff, Yemen’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, and Secretary of the Capital, Sana’a.

President Al-Alimi prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His vast mercy and forgiveness upon the deceased, grant him eternal rest in Paradise, and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
