President Issues Decrees Appointing Commander and Chief of Staff of Nation Shield Forces

President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, issued today Republican Decree No. (57) of 2026. 

Article (1) stipulates the appointment of Brigadier General Bassam Mahdar Ahmed Ali Al-Sanebi as Commander of the Nation Shield Forces, with promotion to the rank of Major General.

The President also issued Republican Decree No. (58) of 2026. 

Article (1) stipulates the appointment of Brigadier General Abdulrahman Saleh Hassan Al-Lahji as Chief of Staff of the Nation Shield Forces, in addition to his duties as Commander of the Fourth Infantry Brigade, with promotion to the rank of Major General.

Article (2) of both decrees states that the Decrees shall come into effect as of the date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette and military bulletins.
