President of Presidential Council Issues Decree on Appointments in Second Military Region

On Wednesday, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces issued Decree No. (8) of 2026 concerning appointments in the leadership of the Second Military Region.
Article One of the decree stipulates the appointment of Major General Mohammed Omar Awad Al-Yemeeni as Commander of the Second Military Region.
Article Two stipulates the appointment of Brigadier General Salem Ahmed Saeed Basalloum as Chief of Staff of the Second Military Region.
Article Three stipulates the appointment of Colonel Murad Khamis Karama Saeed Bakhla as Commander of the Military Police Brigade in the Second Military Region, in addition to his current duties as Commander of the Military Police Department in Mukalla, and his promotion to the rank of Brigadier General.
Article Four of the decree provides that it shall enter into force as of the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette and military bulletins.
