President Al-Alimi Receives Cables of Congratulations from UN Secretary-General on National Day

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received a cable of congratulations from Mr. António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General on the occasion of the 35th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, May 22.

In his cable, Secretary-General, Guterres stated: "I extend my warmest congratulations on the occasion of Yemen's National Day. It is my privilege to convey my best wishes to the Yemeni people on this special day."

Mr. Guterres further added: “National celebrations provide an opportunity to reflect on shared global challenges. The international community faces growing multilateral challenges—from the climate crisis to conflicts and worsening inequalities. This embodies the spirit of the 'Pact for the Future,' the landmark resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly last year, which responds to our urgent need to strengthen multilateral cooperation in advancing peace, sustainable development, and universal rights.'
